► Brief Description

The MSL Flex Cable is a flexible printed circuit board cable (Flex PCB) inside the M3012A. 5090-2898 is a key flexible cable assembly inside the device used to achieve bidirectional data communication.It connects the expansion unit's mainboard to the Dual Link Bar. The Dual Link Bar, the metal/plastic strip on the back of the M3012A, is used for both physical and electrical connections between the main MMS and the expansion unit.

"Bidirectional Interface" means that the MSL (Measurement Server Link) itself is bidirectional. This flexible cable allows data to flow bidirectionally between the main MMS and the M3012A expansion unit.

Uplink: Transmits patient physiological data acquired by the M3012A to the main MMS for processing.

Downlink: Receives control signals and power from the main MMS.

Power Off:

Ensure the patient monitor is completely powered off and disconnected from AC power.

Disassembly:

Carefully open the M3012A module housing. Remove the screws securing the mainboard and dual connecting rods.

Replacement:

Disconnect the old, damaged flexible cable. Install the new 5090-2898 cable, ensuring the connector is fully inserted into the mainboard and dual connecting rods. Handle the wiring carefully, avoiding compression of the flexible cable.

Reassembly and Testing:

1. Reassemble the module and connect it to the main monitor.

2. Power on and check that the “MSL” icon is displayed correctly on the screen and that the measured values (IBP/Temp) are displayed.
